A roadside grandstand for Bidean nam Bian’s three steep northern ridges.

The Three Sisters are the three northern ridges of Bidean nam Bian, meeting the floor of Glen Coe with unusual force. The roadside viewpoint works because it lets you see the entire arrangement at once: steep gullies, dark rock walls and the sweep of the glen between them.

The big shapes are only the beginning. In changing light, watercourses and hanging slopes emerge from the shadow; the notch behind the ridges leads towards Coire Gabhail, the Hidden Valley. It is a view with enough structure to make sense in rain, mist or late sun.
